1. About this policy
This policy explains how Vital Caucas Probiotics Ltd ("we", "us", "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on ddoctor.co.uk (the "Website"). It should be read with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we use personal data more generally.
Our contact details are: 36 Market Place, Heckmondwike, England, WF16 0JG, hello@ddoctor.co.uk, 07471 579850.
2. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website saves on your device when you visit it. They are widely used to make websites work, to make them more secure and efficient, and to give information to the website's owners. "Similar technologies" include things like local storage and pixels that do the same job. In this policy we use "cookies" to cover all of these.
3. The cookies we use
Our online store and checkout are provided by Shopify, so the cookies set on our Website are mainly Shopify's. They are "first-party" cookies, set by our store, and we do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.
Part A: Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are essential for the Website and checkout to work and to keep them secure. They cannot be switched off in our systems. Under UK law we do not need your consent for them. If you set your browser to block them, parts of the Website, such as the basket and checkout, will not work.
| Cookie | What it does | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|
| cart | Keeps track of the contents of your shopping basket | About 2 weeks |
| cart_sig | Checks the cart for security and to prevent tampering | About 2 weeks |
| cart_ts | Used with the cart for checkout and security | About 2 weeks |
| secure_customer_sig | Keeps you securely signed in to a customer account, if you have one | About 1 year |
| _secure_session_id | Keeps track of your session during checkout | About 24 hours |
| localization | Remembers your country or region so we show the right options | About 1 year |
| _cmp_a | Remembers the privacy choices made on the Website | About 1 day |
| _tracking_consent | Records your cookie preferences, where a preference has been set | About 1 year |
| keep_alive | Helps detect whether you are a new or returning visitor for security and site operation | About 30 minutes |
| shopify_pay and similar checkout cookies | Used to process payments securely and, if you choose, to remember your payment details with Shop Pay | Session or up to 1 year |
Part B: Shopify store analytics cookies
Shopify uses a small number of its own cookies to give us basic information about how visitors use the store, such as how many people visit and what they look at. We do not use this data to identify you or to show you advertising. We only use these cookies if you agree to them through the cookie banner.
| Cookie | What it does | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|
| _shopify_y | Records visits to the store, for store analytics | About 1 year |
| _shopify_s | Records the current visit, for store analytics | About 30 minutes |
| _landing_page and _orig_referrer | Record the first page you landed on and where you came from, for store analytics | Session |
4. Your choices
- Strictly necessary cookies do not need your consent and are always on.
- Analytics cookies are only set if you accept them in our cookie banner. Refusing them will not affect your use of the Website.
- Browser settings. You can also control or delete cookies in your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to see what cookies are stored, delete them individually or all at once, and block cookies from particular sites or all sites. Blocking all cookies, including necessary ones, will stop the basket and checkout working. For help, see your browser's help pages or aboutcookies.org.
5. Third-party cookies
Our Website does not use advertising or social media tracking cookies. If you click a link from our Website to another website, such as a social media account, that website may set its own cookies. We do not control those, and you should read their cookie policies.
6. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy if we change the cookies we use, and we will make sure the information and any consent choices are updated before any new non-essential cookies are used. The "last updated" date at the top shows when it was last changed.
7. More information and complaints
If you have any questions about our use of cookies, email hello@ddoctor.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113.
